Based in Broadstairs, Deaf Matters delivers practical, engaging Deaf awareness training and basic British Sign Language (BSL) tuition. We help workplaces build inclusive environments, meet Equality Act requirements, and connect confidently with the Deaf community.
Over 13 years of passion and expertise
With more than 13 years working closely within the Deaf community, holding a Level 6 BSL qualification, and living with hearing loss firsthand, I bring genuine lived experience to every session. Deaf Matters was founded to advocate for Deaf inclusion, break down common communication barriers, and celebrate the rich culture and language of the Deaf community.

Sign language is a hands-on experience that simply cannot be mastered through static slides alone. Our training combines practical Deaf awareness with essential, workplace-specific sign language tailored to your daily operations. Using interactive scenarios and authentic experiences, we ensure your team gains functional skills they can use immediately.

Our mission is to show organisations across the UK that accessibility is neither daunting nor disruptive to your day-to-day workflow.
